This time next week (well, two hours from this time next week, I’m not crazy enough to go in at 6 am) I will be alone in my classroom, with nothing but the buzzing of the fluorescent light bulbs to keep me company. I’m looking forward to having a few days to get my room cleaned out and re-arranged, my resources organized, and the gum scraped off everything.
Yesterday we spent the day at a local water park as an end-of-year trip (do not worry, I didn’t go on the waterslides. I spent the majority of the day in this little sun-shelter and about 45 minutes on a lounge chair). Everyone had fun, but I noticed something interesting: I put sunscreen on my arms, face, and neck (any part of my upper body that was showing). I did not put any on my legs. The reasoning behind this is that I have two big patches of eczema on my legs (mmm, I’m sure you needed to know that), and a dermatologist once told me that UV therapy might help. I figured that the sun is obviously a source of UV light, so why not?
Anyway, my point being: My legs are still all fishbelly white. My arms and face? Sunburn.
WTF SPF 45 KISS MY BUTT.
Good grief! That’s not right. It sure makes you wonder. I recently realized that since I quit using dandruff shampoo, my dandruff is gone! I think it’s a vast right wing conspiracy to keep customers coming back forever. The sun always helped my eczema. I’m hoping you “grow out of” your eczema like I did mine!
I don’t know if at the age of almost 36 it’s possible for me to grow out of anything (although I’m sure I’m still growing hahaha) but I sure hope that happens too.
