Actually pretty well. I enjoy having time to just veg out. Unfortunately there has been a heat wave going on here (yes yes, those of you who live in warmer climes are going to be laughing at my 32C “heatwave” but I am a wuss!) so I haven’t been going outside all that much, aside from walking the dogs. My garden is suffering – I can’t handle being out there long enough to do any weeding. Anyway it’s supposed to cool off tomorrow and then I’ll be complaining about “hey it’s summer why is it so cold?”
Remember my friend that I told you about yesterday? I had mentioned to her in our conversation the day before that on Thursday (yesterday) I was going to be dropping Rob off at work, and then I had to go to a certain store to look for something. Then our conversation moved on to things like camping – she said she was going to the cottage and that was her camping because she was not one for sleeping on the ground. I said that Rob and I have a tent and we like camping in it, and that that’s probably what we’ll be doing for our anniversary this year.
Anyway yesterday after I dropped Rob off I went to that store and I was looking around and … voila! My friend’s husband and one son were there! “Yeah I don’t know why she insisted on coming shopping now but she did… and she wants to buy a tent!” Um. Then she came up the aisle carrying a giant tent and a couple of other things. It was funny.
I am not trying to diss my friend. It just amuses me sometimes and at other times frustrates me. Because she thinks that her life is boring and terrible, and for some reason thinks that Rob and I lead an exciting, charmed life, without children tying us down. Little does she know that we’d gladly trade places with her. Well, not with all of her. I don’t want her parents. I like mine. And I don’t want her husband. I like mine.
