If you are a Facebook friend, or if you follow me on the cursed Twitter, you know that the news from my laparoscopy wasn’t good (how are you enjoying this spelling? I am going V. slowly. It has taken me like 10 minutes to write this far. I get so angry about the misspellings though so I wanted to get through one thing with as few of them as possible). I am still in a huge amount of pain (I know there are people out there thinking I’m a wimp and like, some of you have had much more invasive surgeries than this – like this lady had brain surgery because her brain is too big and they had to use a piece of cow to hold it all together! but guess what? I *am* a wimp and this fecking hurts, baby) and am taking some interesting painkillers or something (I’m not even sure what they are. The nurse said “Take these every six hours. Don’t take them any more often, not even fifteen minutes more often, and don’t take more than one, or DIRE THINGS WILL HAPPEN” (okay maybe not that last bit but it’s the impression I got). Anyway those pills make me loopy and sleepy and generally I just sleep all the time but sometimes I wake up and I get the crazy idea to open up the laptop and share my genius with the world… which results in the post below.
Anyway. I am still in a lot of pain, and my brain is still foggy, and I don’t want to say things that may or may not be true before I double check with Rob who was much more alert when the doctor gave us the crappy news, so I will probably not be writing much more about the whole thing until tomorrow or Wednesday.
In the meantime, here are some fairly disgusting photos I had Rob take of my bellybutton ( I took the dressing off. I had to see it. And it turns out that it’s deformed now! It looks like an angry little mouth) and the bruises around my other incision (tastefully cropped to spare you the sight of any Special Ladyhairs). You don’t have to look at them, because I’ve put them after the jump, but if you do look, you can’t sue me for trauma.
