Rob and I aren’t huge television watchers, but we do use our telly to watch movies, play games, etc. And of course I force him to download entire seasons of TV shows once they’re over so that I don’t have to wait weeks between episodes (hello, Lost?).
Our old TV (well, old, relatively speaking… it was less than 5 years old! I’m kind of annoyed) started having this weird greenish area on the right side of the screen last summer. It started getting really annoying and made it so that anytime we wanted to watch something, we had to consciously ignore the green half of the screen. Nothing worked to fix it, believe me we tried.
Anyway we eventually went out and found a really, really good deal on a flatscreen TV– it would have cost more to get our old TV fixed than to buy this new set.
So we’ve had this set for months now, and it’s nice. It’s not huge, it’s not tiny, the picture’s really good, that’s all I ask for. We have it set up in front of the big picture window in the livingroom, on a TV stand. One of our friends was trying to convince us to get a tv wall mount for it but like I said — it’s in front of a window. We’re not hanging our TV on a window, and we’re not rearranging our entire livingroom just for the sake of television. Plus I’d be so freaked out that we would somehow screw up the wall mount installation and have the TV come crashing to the ground, which would kind of suck.
So. Do you watch TV? Do you OWN a TV? What do you watch? Enquiring minds want to know.

I have an extra computer set up to record shows (which are far too numerous to list) so I rarely watch a show “live”, so to speak. I mean, why watch it live when you can wait and skip commercials? The only problem with this is that I get really far behind in certain shows like Lost – I haven’t watched it since the second week but I have them all recorded on the computer…
I have a smallish 22 inch (maybe?) old TV that works fine for playing video games on and having on in the background noise as I “compute”.
The only time I really watch TV is when I’m at a friend’s house or when I’m fixing/eating meals.
I love TV! I sit with my jaw hanging open, drooling, too. With chips and Ranch dip.
I was going to start watching Lost halfway through the first season, because I’d heard such rave reviews. Later, I discovered that peoples brains were exploding because of the increasingly ridiculous plot line. So, yeah, I’d watch Lost if someone gave me Season 1 on DVD..
Television advertisements for hair care products and white teeth and wrinkle cream are driving me insane. I’d be very happy with the Movie Network for the rest of my life.
Lately I’m watching (as you know) The Dog Whisperer and lots of National Geographic shows, as well as any CSI eps that air. (I heart David Caruso!)
I have two TV’s — an oldie from ’95 and a really nice one my mom got me a couple years ago. Mainly, I watch the news, movies and rented TV shows (like Lost, Grey’s Anatomy — so I can watch them all in a row, too).
I watch too much tv…Lost,Grey’s,Men in Trees, Survivor,Big Brother,Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters, CSI,CSI Miami,Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, Gossip Girls…oh and I”m sure I”m missing something lol
We watch (and have) entirely too much TV. We have the media center recording shows on the upstairs desktop as well as the DVR comcast gave us. We do have our living room TV on wall brackets (the sucker weighs 150 lbs – plasmas=heavy) and it’s not going anywhere. We have a much smaller flat screen in the bedroom, a small oldie from the late 80′s early 90′s in the computer room and another on my closet floor (was replaced by the flat screen which had been replaced by the plasma) so yeah. 4 TV’s + 2 people constantly on laptops=way too much time in front of way too many screens.
Oh! Shows – I almost forgot. My list is long but for the most part consists of:
Ghost Hunters (Plumbers! From the next state over!)
CSI – all of them
Law & Order – all of them
Heroes
Lost
Medium
Jericho
Prison Break
King of the Hill
Simpsons
Familiy Guy
Futurama
too many more to list…
Oh! I loved Veronica Mars too. Funny where some of the actors wound up.
