If you have a chance at all, AT ALL, go and see the movie “Once“.
It’s only in limited release, and I know that I only have three readers, but I want to spread the word. It is such, such a good movie. So good.
I couldn’t find any movie clips, but here are the two lead actors performing one of the songs that they perform in the film.

Rob and I went out to friends’ tonight; they have recently moved from an apartment into their own home. Rob was there to help them with their Internet stuff. I was there to enjoy their cable TV (we recently got rid of cable altogether) because, and yes, this is stereotypical perhaps, Anne of Green Gables was on. I haven’t ever actually watched the movie so it was fun to watch tonight. I also got to snoop around and help unpack a little; thank goodness they are not partisans of rubber duck bathroom decor is all I have to say about that.
We also went out to dinner with these friends and another. This other friend is fostering some puppies and we have decided to possibly take one (they’re only 2 weeks old right now, so we’ll have to see). Rob’s mother just asked on the phone if we would take two and bring them one this summer when we visit. I’m not sure if I can handle 7 months of loving someone just to give him up, but… yeah. We’ll see about that one, as well.
I hear ya’ about the dog… I wouldn’t be able to keep one for 7 months and then give it up.
This song is wonderful – I doubt this movie will play where I live though.
