Mmmm, phleghm.

November 21, 2007 by Louise

O People, I have the Plague.
Maybe not. But I have had this low-grade fever, snotty, coughy, etc. etc. thing for days now (if you’re thinking of sending an arrangement, wholesale flowers are the way to go). All week it’s been like talking through cotton wool, thinking through fog. My lungs are just full of crud and whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! I’m a baby about it.

Now. I knew I had an inservice for Thursday and Friday of the week, so I thought I could make it for three days, and then just take it really slow and be really quiet and just not think too much during the inservice days. Good plan. But last night I was just. So. Miserable. that I made an executive decision that I would be staying home today.

If you know me you know that I really hate staying home from work because it involves more work for me (getting things ready for a sub) than just going in and toughing it out. I went in to work at 7 this morning to make photocopies for my sub. It took, like, an hour. Anyway. Then, on my way out the door, I passed the guidance counsellor. “Oh, hi Louise. Are you on your way to the inservice?” “Yeah– uhm wait, no. That’s tomorrow and Friday, isn’t it?” “No, it’s today and tomorrow”. “Oh crap.”

So I missed the first half of the inservice (yes I could have gone and sat there but at that point it was 20 min. til the inservice was starting, I was all sweaty and coughy and unbathed and wearing my old sweatpants, and I hadn’t really slept much last night) and tomorrow I’ll be there and then since I’ve already booked a sub for Friday, well, I stay home again. Suck, suck suck.

Uhm, this has not been an interesting post. Sorry. Basically if you read this far you know that the main components were:
1. Complain complain complain
2. Talk about how I frucked up my schedule
3. Complain complain complain.

If you only skimmed, well, there be the Coles Notes for you.
