There once was a time when I didn’t watch all that much TV. Maybe one or two shows per week, if that. It came from living without a TV for two years (okay that’s a lie– we had a TV, but it didn’t pick up any stations, so we’d rent a VCR every few weeks and watch a movie). But lately? Oh, lately TV has become my method of relaxation. Especially with the PVR, where I can pause the TV or go through the commercials all super-quickly or whatever.
Now, I like “brain candy” TV as much as the next person (witness my adoration for shows like Big Brother, and the fact that I have the PVR set to record The Facts of Life and Celebrity Fit Club). Heroes and Lost are still very much on my radar this season. Yes, Lost, even though it sucked for most of season 2; I’m just hoping that it’ll stop sucking this season and that the storyline will actually advance. Dr. Who is another of my favourites; I can’t help it. David Tennant is just so cute!
One of my very favourite shows this season is Jekyll. A new twist on the whole Mr. Hyde thing, starring James Nesbitt who I have loved in his other shows (Murphy’s Law and Cold Feet). I can barely describe it, really; you just need to see for yourself. It can be scary and a bit gory sometimes so just know that now but if you think you can handle that, watch these:
And now, to cleanse your palate:
Jekyll seems very cool. What day / channel is it on?
I once had a small TV which I kept in a closet when I wasn’t watching it. I had some kind of weird, really smug trip going on there.
For the Teen and I, it’s Dexter (starts Sept. 30) and for me, ANTM. And I look forward to Grey’s Anatomy. Must find out when the new season begins.
I heard so much angst about Lost that I refused to watch it. Bloggers who watched it kept thinking their heads would explode with each and every episode. It sounded like such torture, I decided to stay away. I’ll watch it when it comes out as a DVD box set.
Ah… The Facts Of Life. My mother hated it that I liked that show… she had no clue what it was about, she just hated the title and thought they were teaching me about s-e-x. LOL Too bad we don’t get it here.
