This is a paid post. You’re forewarned
When I was assigned this topic I honestly didn’t know what I was going to write. Life coach? Really? Is it that difficult to just… live? I imagined someone following me around all day. “All right Louise! You can do it! Breathe in! Now breathe out! In! Out! Okay now we’re gonna work on the walking! Left foot! Right foot! You’re doing great! Left! Right! Left! Right! Yes!”
Obviously, I know that’s not what a life coach does… but what exactly IS a life coach’s job? I wasn’t sure, not 100%. I had to do a bit of research.
Basically, life coaches are non-credentialed therapists who take an active approach to helping people with relationship, career, family, and finance issues. Many life coach regimens involve weekly meetings, journal-writing, defining goals through “life blueprints,” and progress updates. So, if you want a fresh viewpoint on anything you’ve got going on in your life, you can go to a life coach, who will help you to focus on what is important, to clarify your goals, and to figure out how you can best reach these goals.
I personally don’t have the time to meet with a coach of any kind once a week — life’s kinda busy. I bet many people would say the same thing. If I did find I needed a life coach, then, I think I’d probably look more toward an online or on-your-own-time program. Sort of like Clay Nelson’s life balance. According to their website:

More info:
Clay Nelson (photo below) has a weekly radio show which is available online; I will probably be checking it out, next Wednesday. I will also be receiving one of Clay Nelson’s CDs soon; I’ll give it a listen and see what he has to offer. The way I figure it, I have nothing to lose, except a few minutes of my day (and hey, I can do this while washing dishes or something).
Now, here is a photo of good old Clay and his beard. Doesn’t he look like the kind of guy who could help you to figure out what you wanted in life?
I will keep you posted on this. As I said, what have I got to lose?

He looks friendly enough but isn’t that what they say about people right after someone’s gone on a shooting spree? “He was a good neighbor, quiet, friendly, kind…”
Sorry – I don’t know where that came from… too much CourtTV perhaps? Er… I’ll be interested to hear the follow-up on this.
