School’s starting again. I’m nervous. I’m okay, just nervous. Although every teacher I met last night told me that the classes were awesome and I’d love my students. I know it’s probably true, but there’s that .00002% chance that they’re just saying that to con me into liking it there.
It’s funny– my classroom is the one I taught in when I did my final teaching practicum. My cooperating teacher was a doozy– he’s retired now, and 8 years ago I was his first student teacher after 30-odd years in the profession. I don’t think he quite knew what to do with me. Anyway. So I’m familiar with the classroom itself. I’m going to have 36 students in one of the classes I’m teaching– I’m not sure that the classroom is big enough to hold them all! Tomorrow I’ll be bringing in most of my stuff and setting up the rest of my room (maybe I can convince Rob to come with! Except that he’ll probably be sleepy so maybe not). I don’t remember seeing a clock in there (sorry folks, just thinking out loud) and if there’s no clock I will definitely need to either find my watch (I think I saw it around here somewhere… maybe…) or start looking at the Skagen watches site to find an idea as to what kind I would like to get. But I’m 99% sure that if I did that actual looking that all the kids are doing nowadays, I would find my own watch.
OH BUT PEOPLE I AM SO NERVOUS CALM ME DOWN PLEASE.
It’ll be fine – because if it wasn’t I’m sure at least one of the teachers would have said something or hinted because there’s always one who’s willing to spill the beans, ya’ know? It’s all good.
