Work starts again for me next week (well, officially, the week after, but I?ll be going in to get things ready next week because I like to Be Prepared). Am I excited? Sort of, yeah. I mean, if I?ve gotta work, as opposed to being independently wealthy with my own personal grape-peeler guy, then I may as well be working at a job that I love. And I?m super-excited that this year, I will be working like, ten minutes from home.
This has never happened before.
When I started teaching, I was living with my parents, half an hour outside town (where my job was). Then I moved to Halifax, and getting ANYWHERE took at least 45 minutes, if not more. And, for the past two years, I have worked an hour?s drive away from home. So now? To be working a ten-minute drive from my own house? That?s like HEAVEN! We had been spending at least $200 per month on gas; I can only see that expense going down, plus Al Gore won?t want to kick my ass as much.
So yeah, kinda excited. Of course the second I see the reception desks in the main office I will probably start whining (?Ohhh, why wasn?t summer longerrrr??) but there?s only so much lounging one can do.
Is it that time again? So soon? Wow – time flew by this summer.
