Class of ’94

August 22, 2007 by Louise

Another meme, again, not sure where I swiped it from, but enjoy.

Write about your senior year in high school.

1. Who was your best friend? Chantal, Tanya, and Tonia.

2.What sports did you play? What are these ?sports? of which you speak?

3. What kind of car did you drive? It was a Dodge something– it was my parents’. When they’d let me borrow it.

4. Friday night? where were you ?
Either cruising town (Burger King parking lot to McDonalds parking lot to Canadian Tire parking lot to Burger King parking lot ad nauseum) with Tanya in her parents’ Camaro, or at work, or at home. I wasn’t that big of a party animal.

5. Were you a party animal?
hahahahahaha no!

6. Were you considered a flirt? HAHAHAHAHAHA NO!

7. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir?
None of these were offered to seniors at my school — although I was in band up til grade 9 (the highest year you could take it)

8. Were you a nerd?
I was 100% unpopular, and I got fairly good grades, so if that’s considered being a nerd, then yes. But there’s nothing wrong with being a nerd!

9. Did you get suspended/expelled? Oh my God no. Unlike some “kids today” (hahaha I hate that expression), getting in any type of trouble at school was a horrifying thought to consider.

10. Can you sing the fight song? My school didn’t have one that I’m aware of… so I guess the answer to that is no!

11. Who was your favorite teacher?
Mr. Ronnie

12. Where did you sit during lunch?
In an alcove on the second floor (we weren’t supposed to but there was no way we were going to go to the “student lounge” where the scary popular kids were).

13. What was your school?s full name? With a graduating class of 32, I think I will not be putting that out there for the world to see.

14. School mascot? Again, we didn’t have one, unless you count a bunch of guys dressing up as cheerleaders at a few of the girls’ volleyball games.

15. Did you go to prom? Yes, everyone did. As I said, there were 32 of us. I went with a guy from my class, another “nerd” (who is now an awesomely successful guy I’m pleased to say) who didn’t have an actual date.

16. If you could go back and do it again, would you? If I could go back now, and tell Youthful Me that hey, there are a few things you should know, and a few things you shouldn’t worry about, then yeah I’d go back. Do the exact same thing over? Eh, no.

17. What do you remember most about graduation?
It was really hot in the gym, I walked in with Brian who was the tallest boy in the class (I was the tallest girl), and that night for no reason that I could discern I broke down in tears and cried for like, an hour and a half. Then went to sleep over at Tanya’s.

18. Where did you go senior skip day?
There wasn’t really one… We had Prom on the 24th of June, Safe Grad on the 25th (I elected not to go because it was my birthday and I didn’t want to spend the day at Sandspit with people who I didn’t find much fun) and then graduation on the 26th, though. And. When I was done exams every day I would just go home instead of hanging around the school like we were technically supposed to but everyone did that.

WHERE IS 19?

20. Were you in any clubs? Um. I was the editor of the school paper, which due to the beaurocratic process only had one issue that year (but it was a doozy of an issue). And I was on the SADD committee.

21. Where did you go most often for lunch?
There was nowhere TO go. My school is literally in the boondocks. Unless you had a car, which I didn’t, you ate at school. I personally barely ever ate lunch (or breakfast — bad, I know, but I was dumb back then and thought that I could subsist on an apple during school and a handful of nutritional supplements in the morning) though so basically, as I said above, I hung out in the alcove on the second floor with my friends while they ate.

22. Have you gained some weight since then? Yeah, a LOT. Like, a million pounds. It’s disappointing, but I’m working on it.

23 Who was your February-formal dance date?
Nobody. The only dance I went to in all of high school was prom.

24. Are you planning on going to your 10 year reunion?
Well, that was three years ago — and I didn’t go. Rob and I were in Newfoundland at the time visiting his parents. Plus I NEVER GOT AN INVITATION (I’m still pretty annoyed about that), even though they definitely had ways of getting my address. Dicks.

25. Who was your home room teacher? Raymond Bernard.

26. Who will repost this after you?
Anyone who wants to, I suppose.

27. Who was your high school sweetheart? I had one boyfriend in high school, for three months in grade 11, and I basically kicked him to the curb. Not so much a sweetheart.

28. Do you still talk to people from high school?
I have quite a few on my facebook contacts list. Chantal and I are still close friends. I actually became really good friends with one of the “popular” girls during university (we went to the same one) and we hang out quite a bit. Other than that… not really.

29. Did you win prom queen or king? HAAAAAAAAAA CAN YOU IMAGINE!
Plus, we didn’t have that.

30. Where did you work durring your senior year? I babysat alot for my sister, and I also worked at the Met (which became Met Mart, and, after I left for university, SAAN) department store.
