It’s not even as if anything has been happening to keep me from posting… I’ve just been completely ignoring the old blorg (and fotoblorg too). Then I get all crazy when I check other peoples’ and they haven’t updated. WHY AREN’T THEY ALL ENTERTAINING ME?! COME ON PEOPLE!
This weekend was a lazy-ass weekend. Basically, either I laid around on the couch bemoaning the fact that my lungs are sore, or I laid around in bed bemoaning the fact that my lungs are sore. None of what I’d hoped to get done got done, aside from getting the car washed on Saturday night (and it’s dirty again now). Rob, however, went on laundry patrol and did what must have been 9000 loads of laundry which is supposed to be my job but I have been slacking bigtime. I am so glad we have our own washer and dryer now. He is such a good dude.
My sister rolled her car the other day. She’s fine, so’s my nephew who was with her, but the car is beyond repairing. She sent photos and I’m amazed that they weren’t injured.
I’ve been in contact with some peeps about the whole baldness thing. More on that later, because I have got to go now.

6 months ago today, Rob and I were married. It wasn’t perfect; nothing ever is and if it had been, it would have been boring. It was perfect for me, though, because I get to spend the rest of my life with a man who actually wore a kilt just for me.

No don’t!
This is a post about our bathroom. I love our bathroom. It’s tiny, because our house is 50 years old, and it comes with really kind of… interesting brown-beige-sand coloured tile which is on 3/4 of the walls.
Since we rent the house, we can’t do anything drastic, such as, oh, tearing off those consarned tiles. But the fact that every wall in the entire house is WHITE is giving me SARS. So Rob has approved me doing a little Bathroom Renovation. Which would consist of… well, painting the four square feet of non-tiled wall. Putting up a shelf. And MAYBE changing the light fixture. Yesterday was my mom’s birthday. She’s 60! But she’s awesome! So it’s all good.
Oh, it was also Valentine’s Day! We were so romantic. We watched TV, ate supper, gave each other little gifts, then I was asleep by 8:30. That’s how I roll.
Rob had the day off today. Because of weather I had a one-hour delay, but ended up having to go in. The day seemed hugely long, though. Because of the weather, our Winter Carnival activities were cancelled, so we just had regular classes. The kids were miserable. Half of them went home, so there wasn’t really any use in teaching anything new. So we reviewed, played games, did skits (oh, the skits). Then, last period of the day, there was a teachers vs. students ball-hockey game. No, no, I didn’t play. Wouldn’t have been fair to the kids– I’d have clobbered them 
. I sat in the stands. Somehow all the special kids like to come sit with me. I think that’s nice.
And finally. Last night I dreamed that I took my seventh graders to a stripclub for a field trip. But I made them all keep their eyes closed the whole time. And then as we were walking back to school the Ramones tried to start a fight with us, but I kicked Joey Ramone in the sac. He fell over. We ran away.
Yes. I’m an educator.

I am feeling better. Not 100% better; actually if it weren’t for the fact that I’m afraid of my boss I probably wouldn’t be in today, either, because the Things Of Which I Spoke last post are still happening, just at a less frequent rate.
Have I mentioned lately how much I want a dog? Probably not. But I should. Because I want a dog. I love dogs. I neeeeed a dog. I had a dog, for sixteen years, but then she died. She was the best dog ever. We named her after an Ewok because well, I was 10 when we got her and I liked those danged Ewoks. Anyway. Rob is not a dog person. His parents had one, but he wasn’t a fan of ol’ Spike’s, I don’t think (maybe he was a secret fan). Rob is a cat person. I keep feeling very guilty that due to my allergies we can’t have a cat. Like, maybe I should get him a cat, and then take a lot of Benadryl. But he says no to that, too.
So back to dogs. I want a schnauzer. I love schnauzers. I have met schnauzers and I have loved them. And luckily schnauzers are one of the breeds I’m not allergic to (terriers, poodles, schnauzers, wheatens, and one other kind that I can remember being in contact with and not dying of hives and sneezing). We will more than likely be waiting this the Summer before puppy shopping, because it would be nice to actually be at home with a new dog for a couple of months.
Yep. That’s all I had to say today. Anyone have any good dog recommendations? Anyone?

I have been keeping our bathroom company since about 2:30 am. Various things feel that they need to come out of my body, and they’re not really particular about which exit they use. I went in to school this morning (dressed in my pyjamas– not the ones you can see here, peeking out from my Couch Nap Quilt ™– those are in the wash right now due to The Illness) to get the rest of my grades onto the computer there. It was fine, except the driving part and having to pull over to barf. Oh and the fact that the computers were so slow that even though I got there at about 7:30, what should have taken me 15 minutes took 45, and I was still there (in my pyjamas!) when the students got there. I was like “Uhm… hi. Hey, look over there!” *run away*
ANYWAY! In this photo you can see my cute “got monkey?” socks which were a Christmas gift from my leem, my second-favourite pyjama bottoms, and a piece of the Couch Nap Quilt ™. It is the supreme couch napping blanket. Everyone should have one. But not this one. This one is mine.
