I got a phone call today asking me to go in for a job interview tomorrow. Now, I haven’t interviewed for a job since… 2001 I think. Anyway it’s been awhile, and I’m a bit nervous, to say the least.
One thing I’ve always experienced in every single darn job interview I’ve been on is the “what’s your best trait?”/”what’s your biggest weakness” route of questioning. First of all I really don’t love the idea of trying to ‘talk myself up’. I think I’m good at what I do, and I try my best. That’s all. And I don’t want to sound like a complete BS-er with that second one. Because you just KNOW people must hate the whole “Oh, my worst trait is that I work SO HARD!!!” thing. At the same time, though, I don’t want to tell them that my worst trait is that sometimes I just want to stay in bed all day eating cheese and watching reruns of the Golden Girls. That Sophia, she cracks me up.
Anyway the interview is tomorrow afternoon, 1:00 Atlantic time (12 Eastern). So good luck to me at that time in the future!
