Since I STILL CAN’T FIND MY SnB BOOK DAMNIT I am going to take a nap. Before I do, though, I want to put this link up (my friend Michelle sent it to me and she is supercoolio, and she also loves plastic duck guts). I have no idea if it’s “real” or a joke or whatever, but if it’s real, we may as well. Here we go:
I have voted in the national e-referendum on whether Parliament should pass bill C-38 which would legalize same sex marriage in Canada. This referendum is located at http://www.referendumcanada.ca and I hope you will take the time to visit this site and also cast your vote.
Right now it’s kind of a province-by-province thing and while most provinces do allow gay marriage, some still don’t.
I think people who love each other should be allowed to get married. That’s all.
I don’t give a shit about Canadian politics — isn’t that heretical?!
I just thought I’d stop by and say hi, and yes, I’m still alive.
p.s. I love the whip-weilding Sheila on the new skin.
Guess what I found when I went to that referendum site?
“Notice:
Because those voting ‘Yes’ began flooding this site with fradulent votes, voting on the National Marriage Referendum has been temporarily suspended.”
I guess they couldn’t stand the fact that more people agree with same sex marriage than they were planning on.
We only live in a democracy when the people agree with the government.
I’ve just checked back on the referendum site.
They now have the results posted – as well as the temporary suspension notice.
*Apparently* when they stopped, the No’s were at 76,082 and Yes’s were at 32,118.
So it wasn’t that the Yes vote was winning – maybe it was because it just *looked like* it was going to win?
But who can tell? With the “magic” of Internet, who’s to say that someone’s finger didn’t slip (at the referendum site) and add an extra figure to the No side of things.
Well, if the movers would bring my stuff already, I could get a copy for you…
