Does anyone remember Blanket Statement? If you do, I just wanted to let y’all know that I haven’t forgotten about it. Of course I haven’t posted anything about it in months, but here’s an update:
We managed to get five blankets together. FIVE! That’s a lot of squares, guys (okay, math time… 48 squares times 5 blankets…. errr… carry the twelve… eeeeh). Like, 240 squares (Of course my mom and I contributed a few, but still, I’d say at least 200 were contributed by YOU GUYS)! Yay! WEE!
Sadly I haven’t received any squares since January, but then again I haven’t been much of an updater, as I said, so people probably forgot or lost interest or whatever.
And if you’re wondering what I’m talking about, basically last year I started this little thingie where we could all knit or crochet some 8-inch squares. Once you had mailed yours to me, I’d put them together and make blankets for the homeless/ less fortunate people. I know it’s nearly summer and most of us aren’t really thinking of keeping warm, but I’m sure there are people out there who are. You can email me for my address or further information– and thank you so much~!
I was looking through some photos and found pics of the last three blankies, which I apparently took on a day that the bed was made, so they’re below the cut.

Five blankets? Wow. As they say here, “c’est chill.”
Maybe the reason you haven’t gotten any squares since January is because your Blanket Statement button is nowhere to be seen? Hmmm. I’m just saying.
I didn’t even know about your Blanket Statement.
I surfed onto the charity you’re giving the blnkets to some months ago (can’t remember the name right at the moment) – probably when I was buried in snow – but never got around to making any squares to send to them.
But I’ll keep you in mind if I ever get finished what is on my “FINISH IT YESTERDAY” list.
Take care, and thanks for the reminder.
Yay! I am so glad it was such a success!
(no thanks to me- I suck!!)
Thanks Janey– I’ve moved it to a more visible spot. And FG– No worries! You have a wedding to prepare for! Of course, if you’re bored on your honeymoon (ha ha!) you could always knit up a square or two
I still have a box brimming with squares that I haven’t sent off. Want me to?
They make me think of my grandmother. In her old house, she always had those blankets!
