… the newest addition to our family:

Mr. (tentatively named) Judd Nelson!

He is five weeks old. We got him tonight. We had a choice between a bunch of then, but he was the best-looking one there, and seemed the fiestiest. Emilio is, after all, seven months old and twice his size, so we knew we needed someone who could stick up for himself.

When we introduced them, Emilio kind of looked around like “What the heck? What’s this? You mean there’s more than just me in the world?” Judd kind of just sat there, because not half an hour before he’d been surrounded by 20 other skinny pigs (when we get a chance we will post some pictures of his poor skin– those other piggies play rough! He’s covered in scabs and scars. So was Emilio when we got him, though), so he was used to being around others.

Of course then Emilio decided he needed to assert his authority, and started chasing Judd around and humping him. We decided that we didn’t want to traumatize poor Judd on his first night home, so we put a partition between them. Now we just have to listen to them talking to each other, and watch Emilio waving his butt around (another dominance thing). It’s all good.
Eventually they will become friends, more than likely… and if they don’t, well, we’ll just have a couple of cages in the house. No biggie.
